Features: July 2007 Archives

It's been about 2 weeks since we originally rolled out our new profile layout, and we've spent that time making a lot of improvements to it based on your feedback. We're starting to roll it back out to some members today, and we're hoping to make it available to all members by the end of this week.

The biggest addition we made to the new profile is HTML validation, which means we're confident that those of you with lots of CSS and custom layouts from third party sites will not have to worry about broken pages. We've done extensive testing on some pretty crazy profiles, and it's looking really good this time.

In addition, we've made a few smaller changes that a lot of you asked for:

  • If you select Top Friends, we'll show only those you've selected on your profile. So you can have anywhere from 1 to 15 friends on your profile page.
  • The body of your last journal entry is back at the bottom of the left column. The new summary with titles is still in the top section as well.
  • Photo albums are back; we're showing the last 3 you created, also in the left column.
  • We're not truncating group names anymore.
  • Removing recent updates now works for all types.

Enjoy!

New photo upload tool launched!

| | TrackBacks (0)
Say goodbye to the old photo uploader tool. We have now launched the multi-photo uploader. You can access it by clicking on the photos tab or the upload photos link. To use this multi-photo uploader, look for the link at the top of this page "Lots of pics to upload? Try our fast and easy upload tool".

Using the new photo uploader tool, you can now search through files on your computer. Next, just select the photos you want to upload. Once you have selected the photos, click on the "upload" button. The photos will then upload to the selected photo album. That's it!

If you experience any problems with the new photo uploader, you can always switch to the old one by clicking on "Switch to the simple uploader". Let us know what you think of our new tool at the "How can we make Hi5 better?" group.
