hi5 Announces Homepage Redesign

| No TrackBacks
Last week, we rolled out a new and improved homepage for hi5.com. This redesign was based on feedback from you, our users.  The hi5 interface design team carefully analyzed user behavior to determine the best way to optimize the layout.  The result is a cleaner, easier, more efficient user experience.

We just wanted to take a minute to highlight some of the changes:
  • Expanded the top-level navigation bar to include direct links to "Photos" and "Applications" making it faster and easier to access these popular features on the site.
  • Displayed the search box more prominently and added an "Advanced" search feature.  We also significantly improved the way we find and display search results, making it easier to find your friends on hi5.
  • Added a new "Requests" section immediately below your profile picture in the upper left that provides a quick summary of pending Friend Requests, Profile Comments, and Notifications so you can get right to what's new.
  • Introduced several useful pieces of information about your friends in a box to the right, including which of your hi5 friends have birthdays upcoming, as well as who is Online Now so you can interact with your friends while they are on hi5.
  • Modified the look and feel of the home page, including a smaller, easier-to-read font, a darker masthead to locate links faster, and thumbnail photos of your friends next to their status updates.  All these features allow us to fit more information on your home page.
We welcome your feedback on the new homepage design or any other ways we can improve hi5 for you. Join the "How can we make hi5 better?" group http://www.hi5.com/friend/group/1021--How%2Bcan%2Bwe%2Bmake%2Bhi5%2Bbetter%253F--front-html and give us your ideas.  We hope you like the new look!
